DAILY DOSE OF PIANO
A little musical medicine, if you will.
In this challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic, I will be sharing one piano piece each day to bring some music and beauty into the world.
PIERROT LUNAIRE, OP.21
One year and one day after last year's sold-out performance in Baltimore, I will be performing Arnold Schoenberg's expressionist masterpiece Pierrot Lunaire again, this time in Washington, DC.
"Pierrot Lunaire" ("Moonstruck Pierrot") is a melodrama about Pierrot, the sad clown character from the Italian commedia dell'arte, set to 21 poems by Albert Giraud. The narrator presents the poems in the sprechstimme style, a cross between speaking and singing. This interdisciplinary event features a musical performance accompanied by dramatic poetry readings and displays of visual art along with a pre-concert lecture.

THE SEVEN CHAKRAS
The video of this fun performance with the amazing saxophonist Todd Groves is finally up! Last year I was a guest artist at New Music Delaware where they celebrated the music of Daniel Dorff. It was a great honor to perform this piece for Daniel and to work with Todd.
